Grant notification
The Platte Valley Arts Council (PVAC) was notified at their February meeting that they had received a grant from Bridge Street Bargains. Platte Valley Arts Council is a nonprofit organization serving Saratoga, Encampment and Riverside witharts and cultural events and programs.
PlatteValley Public Art Project Coordinator, Stacy Crimmins, says the Arts Councilprojects have been incredibly positive.
“Families will have more opportunities to explore public art in their communities without worrying about money or time constraints. This grant will help ensure that the PVAC will be able to commission six local artists and install six new murals orsculptures this fall.”
The PVAC believes it is important to bring the arts to the underserved since the Platte Valley has a poverty rate 2% higher than the state. Children and adults with socio-economic needs can participate in this project because all pieces will be free to explore and are open to the public all day, week, and year.
